The All Progressives Congress APC has unveiled Comrade Haris Aliyu Hardo as its candidate for the Bauchi constituency seat in the Bauchi State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Haris Hardo emerged winner during the party’s House of Assembly primary elections conducted across various constituencies in Bauchi State as political parties intensify preparations for the forthcoming polls.
Speaking while announcing the results on Saturday, the Chairman of the APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primaries Committee for Bauchi State, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, John Bassey Abang, said the primaries were held on May 21 across the state.
Abang stated that Haris Aliyu Hardo secured the party’s ticket for the Bauchi constituency after polling 5,430 votes in the exercise.
The APC candidate, who hails from Maji Dadi B Ward, is seeking to represent Bauchi constituency in the state assembly during the 2027 elections.
Political observers say his emergence reflects the party’s strategy to promote youth participation and consolidate its support base in Bauchi State ahead of the polls.
Supporters of Hardo have described him as a youth-oriented politician who had earlier declared his ambition to contest the assembly seat in the next electoral cycle.
Hardo attended Bauchi Urban College BUC for his junior secondary education before proceeding to Fariah Comprehensive Secondary School, Bauchi, for his senior secondary studies.
He later studied at the University of Jos and furthered his education at Cavendish University Uganda, where he obtained his first degree.
