The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Wikki Tourists FC player, Kabiru Mohammed, who died in a fatal road accident along the Zaria-Gusau road.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the Speaker described the late footballer’s death as a painful loss to his family, Wikki Tourists FC, and the entire football community in Bauchi State and beyond.
Dr. Suleiman said Kabiru was a dedicated and promising player whose contributions to football brought pride to Bauchi State and inspired many young footballers.
The Speaker noted that the deceased made 26 match appearances and spent over 2,200 minutes on the pitch, describing the record as a reflection of his professionalism, commitment, and sacrifice in promoting the image of the state through football.
The lawmaker prayed to Allah to grant the deceased’s family, teammates, and the entire football fraternity the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
On behalf of the Honourable Members, Principal Officers, and Management Staff of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Dr. Suleiman extended condolences to the management and players of Wikki Tourists FC, the Bauchi State Government, and the bereaved family.
He also prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
