Cleric Urges Nigerians to Elect Credible Leaders in 2027 General Election

By Ukashatu Danmadami:

The Deputy Imam of Izalatul Bidi’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah JIBWIS, Kasuwar Shanu Juma’at Mosque, Imam Nafiu Usman Ibrahim, has called on Nigerians to prioritise competence, integrity and accountability when electing leaders in the 2027 general elections.

Imam Nafiu made the appeal during his Eid-el-Kabir sermon after leading the two-raka’at prayer at the Kasuwar Shanu Eid Ground in Bauchi.

He stressed that voters have a crucial role in shaping the country’s political future and urged the electorate to participate actively in the democratic process by voting for responsible and visionary leaders rather than being influenced by monetary inducements.

The cleric also admonished Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith, submit to the will of Allah and avoid actions capable of undermining their religious obligations.

He further urged citizens to be law-abiding and contribute to the peace and stability of society.
