The Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency BASOVCA, under the leadership of Hajiya Yalwa Abubakar Balewa, has commenced the distribution of cow meat to orphans and vulnerable children OVC across the state as part of activities marking the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Information Officer of the Agency, Sadiya Rilwanu and made available to newsmen
The statement noted that to ensure equitable distribution of the meat to intended beneficiaries at the grassroots, the agency constituted distribution committees to cover all the 20 local government areas of the state.
Speaking during the exercise in Bauchi Central Zone, the board member of the agency, Alhaji Abba Umar, who led the delegation, said the initiative was aimed at supporting vulnerable children and less privileged families during the Sallah festivities.
The delegation included the Director of Finance and Human Affairs, Alhaji Abba Umar; Head of Department HOD Education, Malam Adamu Nuhu; HOD Planning, Malam Salmanu Umar; as well as HOD Information, Hajiya Sadiya Rilwanu.
In Ganjuwa Local Government Area, the team was received by Malam Idris Adamu Kafi of the OVC League alongside the Desk Officer, Malam Yakubu, who appreciated Allah and commended BASOVCA for the humanitarian gesture extended to vulnerable children and their families.
Similarly, in Warji Local Government Area, the distribution team was welcomed by the Chairman of the League, Alhaji Nuhu Shehu Wuha, alongside Mu’assasa Shafa’atu Isyaku and Halima Shuaibu, who joined the exercise to ensure smooth distribution of the meat to beneficiaries.
At Ningi Local Government Area, the BASOVCA team also carried out the distribution exercise successfully, ensuring that vulnerable children and families benefited from the Sallah support programme.
Beneficiaries across the affected local government areas expressed gratitude to the agency, to the Governor of Bauchi state for the intervention, describing the gesture as timely and impactful during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
