Bauchi State Community Radio Task Force Handovers Equipment to BRC FM Toro

The Bauchi State Task Force Committee on Community Radio has conducted an inspection visit to BRC FM Toro as part of efforts to strengthen community radio operations across the state.

During the visit, the committee assessed the station’s facilities and operational activities to determine compliance with broadcast standards and identify areas requiring support.

As part of the intervention, the committee donated a broadcast console to the station to improve its production and transmission capacity.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Task Force Committee and Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Shira, commended the management and staff of BRC FM Toro for sustaining the station’s operations despite challenges.

He also praised the Chairman of Toro Local Government, Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, for providing a solar power system to the station, describing the gesture as a major boost to stable electricity supply and uninterrupted broadcasting.

Alhaji Umar Shira appealed to residents, corporate organisations, and other stakeholders to support the station in order to enhance its role in information dissemination, education, and community development.

He reaffirmed the Bauchi State Government’s commitment to supporting community radio stations to improve grassroots communication and public enlightenment.

Receiving the equipment, the Manager of BRC FM Toro, Alhaji Danjuma Sale, appreciated the committee for the visit and donation, assuring that the console would be properly utilised to improve the station’s services to the Toro community.

The committee explained that the visit formed part of ongoing efforts to ensure community radio stations in Bauchi State effectively serve as platforms for information, education, and local engagement.
