
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has declared that the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, is rapidly gaining ground in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Governor was speaking during the party’s state congress and of the newly executives of the party, he said members of the opposition complied with court rulings after losing political battles under the PDP platform, stressing that they decided to join the APM to continue pursuing the aspirations of their supporters through democratic means.
The Governor said the movement into APM was strategic aimed at providing a platform for citizens to freely exercise their democratic rights and actualize their political ambitions.
Governor Bala Mohammed thanked the leadership of APM for accepting members who joined the party, noting that many of the newly elected officials were formerly members of the PDP.
He described APM as a fast-growing political force in Bauchi State, saying the party would continue expanding its structure across communities in the coming months.
Governor Mohammed accused the APC-led Federal Government of mounting pressure on opposition politicians, alleging that security institutions must remain neutral and provide a level playing field for all political actors.
The Governor however maintained that members of the party would remain law-abiding and peaceful while mobilising supporters to participate fully in future elections.
He also urged supporters to remain vigilant and protect their votes during elections, insisting that the struggle was about freedom, development and democratic participation.
Earlier, while presenting the results of the state congress, Chairman of the Electoral Committee and Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman, announced, Auwal Isa as the elected State Chairman of APM.
Other officials announced include Malam Abdulqadir Gamawa as Deputy Chairman, Adamu Muhammad Gaddafi as Treasurer, Alhaji Samaila Sambuwal as Auditor and Abdulshakur Malami as Publicity Secretary among others.
The committee chairman commended security agencies and the electoral committee for supporting the smooth conduct of the exercise.
