Support groups backing Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti have called on delegates and members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Bauchi State to vote massively for him during the party’s gubernatorial primaries scheduled to hold on Thursday 21st May, 2026.

The appeal was made during a joint press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Press Centre in Bauchi and presented by Architect Muktar Ahmad Jarmajo, Chief Executive Officer of the Bala Wunti Support Organisation, on behalf of various support groups, youth organisations, women groups, and political associates.

Jarmajo described the APC primary election as a critical moment for the future of Bauchi State, stressing that party delegates must elect a candidate with proven competence, leadership capacity, and grassroots acceptance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the support groups, Bala Wunti stands out among other aspirants because of his focus on practical solutions to challenges affecting the state, including youth unemployment, poverty, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.

They noted that unlike politicians known for “empty promises and propaganda,” Bala Wunti’s campaign has been centred on realistic and achievable programmes capable of improving the living conditions of ordinary citizens across Bauchi State.

The groups further highlighted his contributions to education through scholarships, sponsorship of students in tertiary institutions, and financial assistance to less privileged families, saying many beneficiaries were able to complete their education through his interventions.

They also commended Bala Wunti’s commitment to youth empowerment, stating that he had supported numerous young people with vocational training, business grants, mentorship initiatives, startup capital, and employment opportunities aimed at promoting self-reliance and reducing unemployment.

On humanitarian services, the support groups said the APC aspirant had consistently provided medical assistance to vulnerable patients, supported widows and orphans, and contributed to community development projects without discrimination along religious, ethnic, or political lines.

The groups equally praised Bala Wunti’s loyalty to the APC, citing his donation of 24 fully air-conditioned buses to strengthen party mobilisation and logistics, alongside other interventions aimed at promoting unity and effective party administration.

They, however, urged APC supporters across the state to remain peaceful, disciplined, and law-abiding throughout the primary election process, while calling on party officials and security agencies to ensure a free, fair, and credible exercise that reflects the genuine wishes of delegates and party members.
