
Bauchi State Urban Water and sewerage Corporation (BSUWSC) has announced a temporary disruption in water supply to allow for routine maintenance on a critical component of Gubi Dam treatment plant.
In a statement signed by the Corporation’s Public Relations and Communication officer Comrade Umar Adamu Jibrin residents are informed that maintenance work is scheduled for the facility’s massive 3.66 million-liter clear water underground tank as a result of which water production will be temporary halted.
According to the statement, the shutdown will occur on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 with aim of ensuring long-term efficiency and reliability of water treatment facility
The statement further mentioned particularly Digan Yaya community and its surroundings will experience water shortage being areas that typically receives water on Tuesdays.
The Corporation’s Managing Director Hajiya Uwani Garba Dagauda reiterated the Corporation’s regret over the temporary inconvenience and also emphasized that the decision was made to uphold operational standards and ensure facilities continue to provide reliable services to people of Bauchi State.
Hajiya Uwani also used the opportunity to expressed its gratitude to Governor Bala Abdulqadir Muhammad for his continued backing of the corporation’s efforts to improve infrastructure and service delivery.
The Managing Director advised residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water ahead of the scheduled maintenance confirming that normal water production and supply are expected to resume following completion of the work.
