
Muslim ummah have been charged to redouble efforts in worship and prayers as they approach the last ten days of Ramadan.
The chief Imam of Umar Bn Khattab Juma’at Mosque who doubles as the chairman Jama’atul Izalatil Bid’a Wa Iqamatus Sunnah, Bauchi State chapter Professor Zubairu Abubakar Madaki, during the ongoing Ramadan Tafsir in the mosque.
According to him, the last ten days of Ramadan is so important as the night of Lailatul Qadir is highly anticipated .
He therefore called on Muslim ummah to start the Tahajjud this Monday being the 20th of Ramadan 1447, equivalent to 9th March, 2026.
Professor Madaki however, announced that Tahajjud and Ittiqaf will not be observed in the mosque this year due to non completion and official hand over of the project by the Bauchi State government.
The Islamic cleric stated that the project was initially completed but due to the growing population,hence the need to expand the mosque,
the mosque committee therefore forwarded the request to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to further assist with the expansion of the mosque and the governor agreed to expand the mosque in order to accommodate more worshippers.
It will be recalled that the Bauchi State governor Dr Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir had in 2014, flagged off the renovation exercise of Umar Bin Khattab Juma’at mosque.
Professor Madaki therefore applauded governor Bala Mohammed for renovating the mosque and commended the quality of work done, stating that the mosque was of quality standard.
