Katagum local government Council expresses readiness to support livelihood of mentally challenged people

Katagum local government say it is prepared to assist mentally challenged people to enable them become useful members of the society.
The chairman of the local government Alhaji Yusuf Babayo Zaki who announced this said already the council had outlined some strategies to restore the sanity of those afflicted by the scourge in the council area.
Alhaji Babayo zaki assured of the council’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at assisting over 470 people found to have suffered from psychological trauma .
The chairman stated this during an intervention campaign organised by the Association of psychiatric Nurses in Azare.
The zonal chairman of the Association in Azare Abubakar Baba Shehu said the intervention which was first organized by the Union in collaboration with Rahama pharmaceutical company Azare said there are several proposals on the way to clear the society of psychiatric related disorders
The Director pharmaceutical company Umar Adamu Shehu pointed out that already the Association has swung to action by spending over 2 million worth of drugs and additional clothing materials for mentally challenged people and urged well meaning individuals to support the initiative in restoring those afflicted by the scourge.
Alhaji Umar Adamu Shehu commended the pharmaceutical council for organizing the event in Azare and assured of the pharmaceutical company to support initiatives aimed at assisting mentally challenged people and urged government to extend the crusade to every corner of the state .
