FRSC Deploys 334 Personnel, 15 Vehicles for Safe Sallah Celebration in Bauchi

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State Command, has assured residents of its full preparedness for a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the state.

The Sector Commander of RS 12.1 Bauchi Command, CC Caleb Luka, gave the assurance while featuring on Adawo Lafiya, a programme on Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), where he spoke on preparations for the Sallah festivities.

CC Luka said the command had deployed 334 personnel to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations throughout the state.

He commended the support and cooperation of traditional and religious leaders in ensuring adequate preparations for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across the emirates and local government areas.

According to him, the command has also deployed 15 operational vehicles, including ambulances for emergency rescue services, tow trucks for clearing broken-down vehicles, and patrol vehicles for enforcement and rapid response operations.

The Sector Commander added that FRSC offices in Azare, Misau, Ningi, Gamawa, Darazo, Toro, Bara, and Alkaleri are working round the clock to ensure accident-free celebrations across the state.

CC Luka appealed to residents to obey traffic rules and regulations and advised parents against allowing underage children to drive without valid driving licences.

Speaking further on the preparations, the Public Enlightenment Officer (PEO) of the command, Musa Kayo, said personnel would also be stationed at Eid prayer grounds to control traffic and prevent congestion.

PEO Kayo urged parents to keep close watch on their children during the festivities to prevent accidents and cases of missing children.

He also warned that the corps, alongside other security agencies, would not tolerate reckless and unorganised rallies involving motorcycle riders, cyclists, horse riders, and motorists, noting that such activities often lead to fatal accidents during celebrations.
