Bauchi State Government reaffirms commitment to strengthening interfaith relations across the state

Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen interfaith relations across the state.

The State Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Social Reorientation Engineer Muhammad Binni Abubakar made the remark during an inspection visit to the new site of Christian Cemetery in the state.

He inspected the project including the fencing,gates,water provision and a mini mortuary, which has reached seventy five percent completion.

Engineer Muhammad Binni highlighted governments achievements in promoting interfaith harmony which include the sponsorship of three thousand five hundred christian pilgrims to jerussalem,organizing iftar for christian followers,and the distribution of Ramadan palliatives,to the christian community.

He announced governments purchase and compensation of fifty one point seven hecters of land for the cemetery and thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for the support.

The Commissioner therefore appealed for prayers for the state government from the christian community,in its quest to promote peaceful coexistance.

In their remarks,the Director Christian Affairs , Pastor Simon K. Sunday and Engineer Anya Solomon, briefed the Commissioner on the projects progression and thanked him for the visit

The Christians Cemetery project is expected to be completed soon.
