Gov. Bala flags off construction and rehabilitation rural roads in Kirfi and Alkaleri LGAs under Ministry of works
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has flagged off the construction of a 65.6km rural roads in Kirfi and Alkaleri local governments area of the state.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Governor said the award for the contract for the construction of the roads is to open up the area for both agricultural and economic activities.
He appreciated the people of local governments area for their support to his administration and promised that the administration will not relent in investing in the sector for infrastructure development.
On his part, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rulwanu Sulaimanu Adamu expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for the roads project and pledged their unalloyed support and cooperation for the smooth execution of the project.
Meanwhile, Governor Bala Mohammed has called communities across the state to leverage on his administration’s construction of rural roads by embarking on massive agricultural production for improved food security of the state and the nation in general.
He made the call at the breaking ceremony for the construction of Rural roads in Kirfi and Alkaleri Local Governments Area and said that the project would not only improve quality of lives of people of the area, but equally improve access and evacuation of farm products as well as boost economic activities.
He pointed out that lack of access roads in communities had stagnated development in rural areas of Kirfi and Alkaleri Local governments, hence the need for his administration to prioritize rural communities for the overall development of the state.
Earlier, the Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Transportation, Ibrahim Gambo Galadima explained that the roads will Link many communities, adding that the road construction was designed to make rural dwellers comfortable and open up communities for Agricultural development.
The Commissioner ministry of Works and Transport Honorable Ibrahim Gambo Galdima who said the works is be completed in 24 dry months, assured that the ministry would ensure strict adherence to the contract specifications.
In their several remarks, the elder statements in Kirfi and Alkaleri, commended the Governor for the inventive move to develop the state.
The Chairmen of Kirfi and Alkaleri, thanked the Governor for embarking on the projects which they said is very important to the people’s of the area.
