BAUCHI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY VOWS TO CONDUCT THOROUGH INVESTIGATION OVER LOOMING CASE OF MASS RESIGNATION OF PHD HOLDERS DUE TO ALLEGED POOR SALARY AT THE SA’ADU ZUNGUR UNIVERSITY.    Bauchi State House of Assembly has vowed to conduct thorough investigation on the looming case of mass resignation of PhD holders on the alleged poor salary at the Sa’adu Zungur University.

Bauchi State House of Assembly has vowed to conduct thorough investigation on the looming case of mass resignation of PhD holders on the alleged poor salary at the Sa’adu Zungur University.

This is contained in a motion under matters of urgent public importance moved by the assembly committee chairman on education Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala during Plenary.

The lawmaker in his presentation, enjoined the house to advise the Management of Sa’adu Zungur University to provide the assembly with potential position paper for clarity on the matter for transparency and accountability.

Dr. Nasiru Ala also advised the house to invite the state ministry for Higher Education and Regional Integration to provide and discuss government’s stand on the lingering issue and the efforts and plans state government is making to improve as well as enhance the education sector across the state.

Also during the Plenary, the state assembly had resolved to intervene on the complaint forwarded over border encouroachment at Dariya village of Tudun Wada local govt area and Gomo village of Sumaila Local govt all of Kano state and Burra village in Ningi local govt.

The house made the resolution when the member representing Burra constituency in the state assembly Ibrahim Tanko Burra presented matters of urgent public importance seconded by Bello Sarkin Jadori of Gamawa Central constituency.

He said the claimed by the two communities that bordered Burra village is baseless, unverified and not truth, adding that the claimed is within the demarcation line conducted by the National Boundary Commission in 1985 to address land dispute.

The lawmaker appealed to the house to direct its relevant committee to conduct oversight at the border to ascertain the truth of matter and consult the necessary authorities

Contributing to the matter, the state lawmakers expressed dismay with the Kano State assembly mentioning name of member representing Burra constituency in the case without due consultation on the alleged land encroachment between the communities.
