The Chairman of Katagum Local Government Area, Alhaji Yusuf Babayo Zaki, has
urged parents and guardians in the area to prioritize the education of their children by enrolling them in school,
Alhaji Yusuf Babayo made the call at the official launching of the 2025/2026 school enrollment drive campaign at Duhuwar Kura village in Katagum LGA.
He explained that Duhuwar Kura was deliberately chosen as the venue due to its low level of school enrollment in recent years.
The Chairman noted that, education remains the foundation for community and national development.

The Chairman assured the people that the state government is committed to providing the necessary facilities and resources to ensure access to quality education for every child in the state.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour and Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to support educational initiatives across the state.
He commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his continued efforts to improve the standard of education and called on the people of Duhuwar Kura to embrace the campaign, especially by encouraging the enrollment of girls.
Also speaking, the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouk II, represented by the District Head of Madara, Alhaji Magaji Saleh Mustapha, pledged the Emirate’s full support towards enhancing educational development in the area.
