The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State Command, has commenced a Customers’ Week aimed at engaging stakeholders and the general public to obtain feedback on the quality of its services and products.
The Sector Commander, D.B. Apaja, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Bauchi.
According to him, the week-long event is designed to strengthen the Corps’ relationship with its clients and improve efficiency in service delivery.
Apaja explained that the FRSC’s key products and services include the issuance of national vehicle number plates, driver’s licenses, road signage, medical and rescue services, among others.
He added that, proceeds from these services contribute significantly to the revenue of both the federal and state governments.
The Sector Commander also revealed that the command would engage relevant stakeholders throughout the week to discuss strategies for improving road safety, particularly as the ember months, a period often associated with increased road traffic approach.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the NUJ, Bauchi State Council, Comrade Umar Sa’idu, commended the FRSC for the initiative and urged the command to intensify efforts to curb the negative behaviors of some motorists who engage in unlawful acts such as covering or tinting their number plates and the illegal use of press tags.
Comrade Umar Sa’idu assured the Corps of continued collaboration with the media in sensitizing the public on road safety measures to reduce accidents and ensure safer highways across the state.
