The Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, has called on stakeholders in Dass Local Government Area to support the ongoing school enrollment drive aimed at increasing pupils’ participation in basic education across the state.
Alhaji Adamu Muhammad made the call during the official flag-off ceremony of the Dass Local Government-wide enrollment campaign held at Wandi Primary School.
He expressed concern over the low rate of school enrollment in the area and appealed to parents and community leaders to ensure that every child is enrolled in school.
The SUBEB Chairman reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing quality education and instilling good moral values among pupils.
According to him, the state government under Governor Bala Mohammed has provided adequate learning materials and qualified teachers to enhance the quality of education, adding that community support is essential for the success of the initiative.
Alhaji Adamu Muhammad also lamented the late resumption of both staff and students after school holidays, warning that any staff found engaging in acts of negligence or misconduct would face appropriate sanctions.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Dass Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammad Jibo, commended SUBEB for its efforts in improving school enrollment and teacher performance across the state.
He noted that, the reforms introduced by the Board have positively impacted the quality of learning in the area.
Alhaji Jibo also lauded Governor Bala Mohammed for declaring a state of emergency on the education sector, which he said has significantly reduced the number of out-of-school children in Bauchi State
Representing the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, the Hakimi of Dass emphasized the importance of education in community development and commended the state government for its continuous investment in the sector.
