Aisha Bala Alternative High School promises to provide skills and training to women and girls in the state

The First Lady of Bauchi State, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has commended the management and teachers of the Aisha Bala Alternative High School for Girls for their dedication to providing quality education and skills training to women and girls in the state.

Dr. Aisha Bala gave the commendation while receiving a delegation from the school in her office at the Government House, Bauchi.

She expressed satisfaction with the consistent reports of positive achievements recorded by the school in both formal and non-formal education, as well as in various skills acquisition programmes.

Responding to the delegation’s request for additional classrooms, the First Lady explained that although the school was initially designed to operate within a specific structure, she would explore the possibility of expanding its skills-training initiatives to other schools for wider impact.

She assured that she would engage the Ministry of Education and the AGILE project team to consider the school’s request.

Dr. Aisha Bala also congratulated the school for emerging victorious in the recent North-East regional competition, noting that the achievement was a direct result of the hard work and commitment of the teachers in ensuring students receive the right knowledge and guidance.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Agency for Mass Education, Alhaji Sulaiman Musa, said the delegation was at the Government House to extend condolences to the First Lady over the death of her brother, inform her about the school’s recent competition victory, and present their request for additional classrooms.

He explained that the appeal for expansion became necessary due to the increasing number of applicants seeking admission into the school, adding that previous attempts to channel the request through other means did not yield results.
