Bauchi State Civil Service interdicts four senior officers for alleged misconduct

Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has interdicted four senior officers, attached to the Bill and Melinda Gates College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ningi, over allegations of gross misconduct.

The decision was reached during the Commission’s plenary session held at its conference hall, Bauchi.

Those affected include, Garba Hussaini, Director of Education and former Provost, Haruna Babaji Umar, Deputy Director Administration and Human Resources, and former Registrar, Umar Alhaji Yusuf, Chief Executive Officer (Accounts) and former Bursar, Mohammed Usman, Chief Clerical Officer and Cashier

According to the Commission, the interdiction will allow for further investigation into allegations that contravene the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations.

It said, the officers will remain away from their duty posts to ensure a smooth and unbiased inquiry.

The commission added that, the affected officers have been placed on 50 percent salary with effect from 28th October 2025 pending the conclusion of the case.

In a related development, the Commission has rejected an appeal seeking a review of the dismissal of Mr. Joshua N. Amos, an Education Officer formerly with the State Special School Management Board.

He had petitioned the Commission through a legal firm, ADA-KWALTINGS & PARTNERS.

The Commission upheld its earlier decision, stating that, due process was followed in line with Civil Service Regulations and other establishment laws.

It will be recalled that Mr. Amos was dismissed on 11th September for alleged sexual harassment at Government College Azare.

Meanwhile, the Commission has approved the promotion of 21 officers to various grades, including Deputy Chief Librarian, Assistant Chief Librarian, Principal Librarian, as well as Assistant Chief Executive Officer and Chief Confidential Secretary.

Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and adherence to due process.

He expressed concern over the ignorance of disciplinary procedures among some civil servants and advised workers to familiarize themselves with service regulations to avoid sanctions.
