Bauchi Fire Service intensifies campaign against Hamatan fire outbreaks.

Bauchi State Fire Service Directorate has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the frequent fire outbreaks recorded across the state, especially during the Hamatan season.

The Director of the State Fire Service, Builder Dauda Bala Pali, gave the assurance during a mobilization tour to Zamfara and Bauchi Central Jumu’at Mosques in Bauchi metropolis.

Builder Dauda Pali identified negligence and poor compliance with fire safety measures as the major causes of fire incidents in the state.

He disclosed that from January to November this year, fire incidents resulted in the loss of eight lives and destruction of property valued at over N305.8 million.

With the Hamatan season approaching, the fire service director stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the agency and relevant stakeholders to safeguard lives and property.

He also described a religious institutions as key partners in influencing behavioural change and urged clerics to enlighten their congregations on basic fire safety precautions.

In their separate remarks, the management committees of Zamfara and Bauchi Central Mosques expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged their support toward helping the agency achieve its fire prevention goals.
