Bauchi Pilgrims Board Staff Honour Executive Secretary for Exemplary Leadership

Staff of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board have honoured the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, with an award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and commitment to improving Hajj administration in the state.

The award was presented during a reception organized by members of staff to celebrate his recent conferment as Dujuman Bauchi by the Bauchi Emirate.

Presenting the award, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Murtala Muhammad Bawa, congratulated Dr Idris Abdurrahman on his traditional title, describing the honour as a testament to his outstanding leadership, dedication, and contributions to the development of the Board.

He noted that the reception was organized to celebrate the well-deserved recognition bestowed on the Executive Secretary.

In his vote of thanks, the Director of Hajj Operations, Khamisu Abdu Gwalabe, described the title of Dujuman Bauchi as a prestigious and historic traditional office, explaining that similar titles were previously more common in neighbouring states, particularly Borno State, underscoring the significance of the honour.

In his goodwill message, the Director of Enlightenment, Alhaji Hashimu Abubakar, said the traditional title is well deserved, noting that it was conferred after careful consideration of Dr Idris’ contributions and service and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and success for the Executive Secretary.

Earlier, in her welcome address, the Staff Officer of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hajiya Hafsat Mohammed Gamawa, described Dr Imam Abdurrahman as a committed and capable administrator who has demonstrated competence and dedication in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Responding, the Executive Secretary expressed appreciation to the entire staff of the Board for organizing the reception and thanked them for their prayers and goodwill following his appointment as Dujiman Bauchi.

Dr Abdurrahman also expressed gratitude to the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, for conferring the traditional title on him.

He further commended Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, for establishing new emirates and chiefdoms in the state, describing the initiative as a step toward strengthening the state’s traditional institutions.

The Executive Secretary also praised the Board’s staff, particularly the Staff Officer, Hajiya Hafsat Mohammed Gamawa, for their dedication and commitment during the Hajj operations and urged them to sustain the teamwork.
