COE reaffirms commitment to offer free education to people with special needs in Bogoro Local Government Area

‎The Management of Aminu Saleh College of Education Azare has reaffirmed its commitment to offer free education to people with special needs in Bogoro Local Government area.

The Chairman committee on admission for 2025/2026 academic session ‎Dr. Abdullahi Jaji Abdullahi disclosed this during an advocacy and sensitization visit to the chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area

Dr. Abdullahi Jaji expressed the college readiness to support, encourage people with special needs to study, stating that the college under the leadership of Professor Sadiya Asabe Mohammed has introduced a department for people with special needs to train them on sign language and other important skills that will ease communication and interaction among them.

‎According to him, the college has 29 departments with full accreditations offering Nigeria certificate in Education (NCE)  and 13 degree programs in education in affiliation with university of Maiduguri with full accreditations with National university Commission.
‎
‎Dr Abdullahi Jaji appealed to the Chairman to sponsor, encourage and sensitize the youth to patronize the college, adding that the college has improved facilities, affordable hostel accommodation for all students, ultra modern career development centre and modern clinical services among other facilities.
‎
‎In a remark, the Chairman of Bogoro Local Government area Yakubu Lawi Sumi commended the college Provost, professor Sadiya Asabe Mohammed for the positive initiative, noting that its impact will eradicate the discrimination against people with special needs and will ensure equal unhindered access to education as guaranteed to these special set of people.

Yakubu Lawi said that his administration will collaborate with the college to sponsor students to study  different courses in various departments in the college.

‎He highlighted the steps needed to be taken by the college to increase applicant accessibility and people with special needs in the college to include timely admission programme, free transportation to people with special needs.
