Spouses of Bauchi Legislators meet in Lagos over women and Girls empowerment

Spouses of members to the Bauchi State House of Assembly have met with the Lagos Commissioner of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bolaji Cecilia Dada with whom they discussed strategies for empowering women and girls.
They expressed confidence that through collaboration between the Executive and Local Governments, more women would be oriented, educated as well as civilized.
They noted that the more women are allowed to harness their full potentials, the lesser the rates of poverty and total reliance on husbands or guardians to cover basic needs.
The spouses of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Members led by the Chairperson, Hajiya Abi Hafsat said they were in Lagos for the past two days at the Center of Excellence for a workshop solely on Empowering Women and Girls in their respective Constituencies.
The aimed was to be acquainted with global best practices and adopt strategies that will transform the livelihood, economy and careers of women.
Earlier ,the Bauchi legislators’ spouses were Received by the. Obasa’s wife who led them round the Lagos State House of Assembly complex where they were received by the Management and Staff of the Assembly.
