Speaker Bauchi state Assembly calls on federal government to give kolmani oil project adequate attention

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Abubakar Y Sulaiman has appealed to the Federal Government through the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources to double efforts and take Kolmani oil exploration with all seriousness it deserves.
The Speaker of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman made the appeal in his goodwill message during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of permanent site of Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy Alkaleri.
He said the academy when completed will be the first of it’s kind in the region which will serve as an important avenue where competent professionals and skilled personnel in the oil and gas sector will be hatched.
According to the speaker, the establishment of the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy precedes the ceremonial passage by BAHA and assent of the Law establishing the Academy by the State Governor, saying It is a testament to State’s commitment to harnessing the abundant resources that the State offers and transforming them into opportunities for learning and growth.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his foresight, political will and commitment by initiating the ambitious project in the State.
The Speaker appreciated the efforts of the Executive Arm, the legislators and all other critical stakeholders in making this vision a reality.
He maintained that the State Governor’s dedication and demonstrated foresight brought to light the profound understanding of education and skills development in thriving the economy.
The Legislative leader further said Oil and Gas sector holds immense potential for the job creation and economic diversification, and expressed the hope that the Alkaleri Oil Academy would serve as beacon of excellence, producing competent professionals that would contribute significantly to the industry and Bauchi State’s development.
. Abubakar also urged all stakeholders to ensure that the Academy maintain high educational standards and remain responsive to the evolving demands of the oil and gas sector.
He reiterated that synergy between the Government, industry leaders and academic institutions is crucial in achieving the desired goals.
The Speaker restated the commitment of the Bauchi State House of Assembly in collaborating with the Governor and true lovers of Bauchi State to come up with people-driven Laws that would positively impact the lives of the good people of the State.
