NAPPS Backs Bauchi Govt’s Crackdown on Unregistered Private Schools, Urges Compliance

The Bauchi State chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools NAPPS has endorsed the state government’s decision to shut down unregistered private schools, describing the move as a necessary step toward improving the quality of education across the state.

The State Public Relations Officer of NAPPS and Proprietor of Ummul Qura Science Academy, Azare, Malam Jibril Shirama, stated this in an interview with journalist in Azare while reacting to government’s efforts to strengthen the regulation of private schools.

Malam Shirama said the Bauchi State Ministry of Education had already established clear guidelines and requirements for the registration of private schools, stressing that compliance with these regulations is essential for maintaining educational standards.

According to him, some private school proprietors have failed to meet the prescribed registration requirements, making government intervention necessary to protect the integrity of the education sector.

He urged proprietors of private schools who are yet to register with NAPPS to do so, noting that membership would foster unity among school owners and provide a platform for addressing common challenges affecting the sector.

Jibril Shirama also commended the cordial relationship between NAPPS and the Bauchi State Ministry of Education, describing the partnership as instrumental in promoting the smooth operation and development of private schools in the state.

He further appealed to parents and guardians to pay their children’s school fees promptly, explaining that timely payment would enable school proprietors to meet teachers’ salary obligations and effectively manage the day-to-day administration of their schools.
