Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi have officially booked their place in the NNL 2025 Super Eight Playoffs after an emphatic 4-1 victory over Zamfara United on the final matchday of the Northern Conference C.
It was a day to remember at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, as the home side put on a dominant display in front of their passionate supporters.
Jonathan Mairiga set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a fine finish assisted by Wonderson Yakubu, Just eight minutes later, Mairiga struck again, completing his brace and sending the stadium into a frenzy.
The momentum kept building as the trio of Klingshak, Wonderson, and Mairiga combined brilliantly to set up Nentaka Bangs, who netted the third goal in the 38th minute to cap off a sensational first-half performance.
Zamfara United managed a consolation late on through an own goal in the 89th minute, but it did little to dampen the celebrations in Bauchi, as Wikki Tourists secured top spot in Conference C with 23 points from 12 games, where the final whistle sparked wild jubilation among fans, players, and officials as Wikki officially booked their place in the Super Eight.
Speaking after the match, Head Coach Abdu Maikaba expressed gratitude and optimism that the club is on the right path, With the caliber of players in the squad and continued support, the team will attain promotion to the next level
Coach Maikaba also thanked the Bauchi State Government, club Management, and the loyal Supporters for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
In the meantime, with the Conference C matches now wrapped up, attention has turned to the conclusion of Conferences A & B expected to wrap up in four weeks after which the NNL will announce the official date for the Super Eight Playoffs.
