Six District Heads from Zaar chiefdom have been crowned, marking another step in strengthening traditional governance structures.
The coronations took place at the palace of first Gung Zaar chiefdom, with the newly appointed district heads assuming leadership of their respective districts following approval by the state Government.
At the ceremony, the representative of Bauchi state Government, the principal private Secretary to the Governor Alh Hashimu Yakubu Kumbala, urged the district heads to administer their areas in line with Governor Bala Mohammed’s people-centred policies.
Alhaji Hashimu Yakubu Kumbala charged the traditional rulers to work closely with the Gung Zaar to promote unity, peace and effective grassroots governance across the chiefdom and Bauchi state.
He emphasised that traditional institutions remain vital partners in bringing government closer to the people and ensuring the successful implementation of development programmes at the local level.
According to him, Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the construction of a modern district heads palaces and also the purchase of new cars for the coronated district heads to ensure smooth running of their day to day activities.
The six newly turbaned district heads are;, Nuhu Tafida – District Head of Bogoro, Dauda J. Zabas Lusa, Bala Likita Ibrahim Boi, Simon Kefas Adams Pusji, Bernard Dauda Bako Marti and David Gotip Mahamud – District Head of Tapshin.
In his address, his royal majesty retired Brigadier General Marcus Koko Yake, the first Gung Zaar of Zaar chiefdom expressed gratitude to Governor Senator Bala Mohammed for the socio-economic developments in the state; and also for the peaceful co-existence in the state.
Gen Markus Koko Yake commended the state Governor for his tremendous efforts to the development of traditional institutions and his recent creation of more District Heads in the State.
He further congratulated the new district heads and urged them to be agents of peace in their respective domain and also be law abiding to lawful authorities and the Government.
He said history would not forget the tremendous efforts of the state Governor towards promoting the tradition and culture in the state; which noted would go a long-way to promoting peace and human developments.
In his Vote of thanks at his palace on behalf of the newly coronated district heads, the district head of Bogoro Nuhu Tafida expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for finding them Worthy to serve in that capacity and pledged to lead with transparency and remain loyal to the Government pointing out that history would continue to recognize to the Governor for the development.
