The 2025/2026 Qur’anic Recitation Competition has officially commenced in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, with contingents from various categories participating in the event.
Declaring the competition open, the Chairman of Ningi Local Government Council, Alhaji Nasiru Zakari DanKasuwa, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting educational and moral development initiatives across the area.
Represented by the Director of Education and Social Development, Alhaji Abubakar Babamaji, Nasiru Zakarai commended the competition committee and judges for their dedication, urging them to uphold fairness and transparency throughout the exercise.
The chairman also called on parents, guardians, and stakeholders to support their children’s pursuit of Qur’anic knowledge, emphasizing the need for moral guidance and collaboration with government initiatives aimed at strengthening educational standards.
In his goodwill message, the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya III, represented by the Matawallen Ningi, Alhaji Garba Zakari, lauded the local government’s efforts in organizing the competition.
He urged the panel of judges to ensure a free, fair, and credible process, assuring the full support of the emirate council for the smooth conduct of the event.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Qur’anic Recitation Competition Committee, Mallam Nasiru Hussaini Nasaru, disclosed that Ningi LGA is the first among the 20 local government areas in Bauchi State to commence this year’s Qur’anic competition.
He attributed this milestone to the visionary leadership of Hon. Nasiru Zakari DanKasuwa, describing him as “an administrator par excellence who is deeply concerned about the moral and educational development of children and youths.”
The competition, which features participants in various Qur’anic memorization and recitation categories, is expected to produce outstanding representatives who will compete at the state level in the coming weeks.
