The Nigerian Army Armour School, Obienu Barracks, Bauchi, has announced plans to conduct a live Fire Power Demonstration Exercise on the, 5th and 12th February 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Major Adekunle A. Adeyemi, the exercise will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days along the Bauchi–Jos Road.
He explained that, the exercise will involve extensive movement of troops and military equipment, as well as the firing of live ammunition and projectiles.
Major Adeyemi advised members of the public not to panic upon seeing heavy troop movements or hearing gunshots within the Bauchi–Jos Road axis during the period of the exercise.
He noted that, the demonstration is a routine military training activity aimed at enhancing operational readiness.
The Army further cautioned residents, particularly cattle rearers and farmers around the affected areas, to stay away from the designated Field Training Exercise Area near Zaranda Hill and Geji Village throughout the duration of the exercise.
He assured that adequate safety measures have been put in place to protect lives and property.
The Nigerian Army appealed to the media to assist in disseminating the information to the general public, while assuring residents of its commitment to safety and professionalism throughout the exercise.
