Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has urged the newly turbaned District Heads in Bununu Emirate to desist from involving themselves in partisan politics
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad was speaking at the Emir’s palace, Bununu during the turbaning of four newly created District Heads in Bununu Emirate Council.
He said as Royal fathers they should do everything possible to protect the image of the traditional institution and treat everyone equally with justice and fairness.
Governor Bala Muhammad who was represented by his private personal secretary, Alhaji Hashimu Yakubu Kumbala, assured to continue to accord the traditional institution the respect it deserves.
He announced plans by the state Government to build new befitting palaces for all the newly established District Heads and provide them with new cars before the expiration of his tenure, to enable them rule with dignity.
The Governor reiterated that the aim of creating new Emirates, Districts and chiefdoms is to ensure accelerated development and bring governance closer to the people.
He urged them to use their talents in helping the government to implement its policies and programmes, hence the need for them to support the Government at all times by educating the people on its policies and programmes.
Governor Bala then solicited for their support and prayers for peace in the state and country at large for the overall progress of the state.
The four newly turbaned District Heads are Alhaji Salisu Muhammad, District Head of Bununu, Isah Dauda, District Head of Mball, Alhaji Abdullahi Abubakar Hantsi, District Head of Dajin and Zulkiflu Abdullahi Hassan, District Head of Dull.
In his remarks, the Emir of Bununu Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan, called on the newly turbaned District Heads to be loyal and obedient to the Government of Bauchi state and Bununu Emirate Council in order for them to be respected by their subjects.
Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan, advised the District Heads to give their unflinching support to the health personnel in order to eradicate deadly diseases such as Lassa fever in the society with a view to having a healthier society.
The Emir of Bununu reminded the District Heads on the Herculean task before them especially the security challenges and urged them to face their duties with all the seriousness it deserved in order to make impacts in their respective domains.
Alhaji Jibrin Danlami Hassan threatened to remove any District Head found to be negligent on the discharge of his duties, noting that he would not condone laxity and dereliction of responsibilities by any District Head in his Emirate.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the newly turbaned District Heads, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad, the District Head of Bununu expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Muhammad for finding them worthy of the appointments and all those who contributed in actualising the creation of the new Districts, Emirates and chiefdoms in Bauchi state.
Alhaji Salisu Muhammad Bununu pledged their unflinching loyalty to the Bununu Emirate Council, Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Bauchi state and Nigeria as a whole.
The District Head of Bununu promised not to let the Bununu Emirate down and would never indulge themselves in committing nefarious activities such as conniving with bandits as some traditional leaders were found to be fully involved in such an act, and assured not to accommodate strangers in their domains who oftentimes posed serious security threats to the society.
