Member Representing Sade constituency at the state house of assembly Lawal Dauda has appealed to the state government to construct a seven kilometer road from Wahu linking other communities to Maiduguri main road in Darazo Local Government area.
He made the appeal in a motion he presented during plenary presided by speaker Abubakar Sulaiman.
Alhaji Lawal Dauda in his presentation, said the bad condition of the Wahu-Lago-Filataran-Nahutan Zandam is significantly hindering farmers and traders from accessing markets, leading to increased transportation costs and spoilage as well as reducing income and economic opportunities.
Meanwhile, the member representing Udubo constituency at the state assembly, Ahmad Mohammad Lele has called on the State government to construct a drainage system in Gadiya Town and relocate some flood prone areas, which is sequel to a motion he presented during plenary.
Presenting the motion, Ahmed Mohammed Lele noted that, Gadiya Town is one of the most vulnerable communities to seasonal flooding in Udubo Constituency, adding that, flood experienced last year, was specifically devastating due to the absence of a proper drainage network and unchecked habitation of low lying flood prone zones.
The lawmaker in his prayers, appealed to his colleagues to mandate the Bauchi State Urban and Regional planning Board and the state emergency management agencies to conduct a detailed environmental and safety assessment of Gadiya Town with a view to relocate household and business from the most flood prone areas to safer grounds.
Member Representing Azare/Madangala Constituency in the state Alhaji Sale Zakariyya has extended his heartfelt sympathy over an endemic that ravaged his Constituency.
Speaking under matters of urgent public importance during plenary, the lawmaker announced an outbreak of Diphtheria that affected a high number of people.
He maintained that most of the patients are being taken to Kano State for treatment due to the absence of needed medications.
Alhaji Sale Zakariyya urged the House to call on governments for prompt intervention in order to stop the spread of the diseases and help those already affected.
Contributing to the motion, member representing Chinade/Madara Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala stated that the endemic requires support from all Honorable Members to ensure that the spread is halted.
He emphasized that, the disease is transmittable and immediate action need to be taken by all authorities concerned.
n his ruling, the Speaker Rite Honourable Abubakar Sulaiman directed the Clerk of the House, to write officially to the Executive Arm of Government about the spread of Diphtheria in Azare/Madangala of Katagum Local Government Area.
