House of Reps Committee on NEDC embarks on two days oversight visit in Bauchi.

In a bid to ensure transparency and effective utilization of funds, the House of Representatives Committee on North East Development Commission has embarked on a two-day oversight visit to Bauchi State.

The chairman committee on NEDC Usman Zanna, said the visit is aimed to assess the progress of these projects and ensure that funds allocated to NEDC are being utilized effectively.

The lawmaker said the committee’s findings and recommendations will be submitted to the House of Representatives, with the goal of improving project implementation in the North East region.

The committee members inspected various development projects, including the proposed Institute Complex, rehabilitation work at Shira Healthcare, and the completion of the Community Health Center.

Other projects visited included the construction of a surgical ward and skills acquisition center, the building and equipping of a triage center, and the proposed Kirfi-Gombe Abba Road.

The committee also inspected the reconstruction of culverts and drainages along Alkaleri-Futuk Road and the establishment of three new forestry nurseries in Yashi village in Alkaleri local government area.

Other projects visited includes institute of Opthalmology which is at 50 percent of completion and Emergency medical complex at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa teaching hospital which is hundred percent completed.

Meeting with the contractor of the project Mr Ahmed Musa assured the committee members that the project will be handed over to NEDC by next week Friday.
