Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin and Bichi Lawmaker train 100 Women and Youths on Modern Poultry Production

The Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority Kano, has organized a one-day training programme for 100 graduate women and youths on modern poultry production in Azare, Katagum Local Government.

The training was conducted by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation in collaboration with the Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar,

Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of the Authority, Engr. Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, represented by the Director of Agricultural Services, Malam Ayatullah Salihu, underscored the importance of the training in equipping participants with modern skills in poultry management and agribusiness.

Malam Salihu explained that the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority has a long-standing commitment to empowering women and youths through capacity-building programmes across various agricultural sectors.

He added that the current initiative enjoyed additional support from Abubakar Kabir Abubakar to further strengthen youth empowerment and job creation.

He urged the participants to take full advantage of the training, noting that, the facilitators are highly experienced professionals dedicated to imparting practical knowledge that will enable participants to become self-reliant.

According to him, the training covered two major components, poultry production and business development, designed to provide participants with technical and entrepreneurial skills necessary for sustainable income generation.

Malam Salihu further assured that upon completion of the training, each participant would receive a starter pack to facilitate the establishment of their own poultry ventures.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen expressed appreciation to the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority and Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar for facilitating what they described as a timely and impactful initiative aimed at empowering women and youths toward self-employment.
