GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED FLAGGS OFF MULTI BILLION NAIRA SPECIALISTS HOSPITAL UPGRADE.

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state has flagged off the total rehabilitation and upgrade of the states Specialist Hospital.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony held at the hospital’s premises, the Governor said the project is awarded at the cost of over 19 billion naira.

Governor Bala Mohammmed noted that the rehabilitation and upgrade of the state’s Specialist Hospital is part of his administration’s infrastacture intervention to the health sector to address its challenges.

He said the project demonstrates his government’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of the people through modern healthcare delivery and emphasized that access to quality health services remains a key pillar of his administration’s development agenda.

The governor explained that the project will involve extensive renovation and expansion works, including the construction of new buildings, modern operating theatres, and specialized care units for patients with critical medical needs.

He further noted that the initiative is designed to transform the hospital into a world-class medical facility capable of handling complex cases.

Governor Bala Mohammed further stated that the upgrade would also include the installation of advanced medical equipment, digital record systems, and staff training to ensure efficient service delivery.

According to him, his administration has accorded health sector the needed priority with the allocation of 16 percent budget to the sector to achieve the desired objectives.

The Governor disclosed some of the achievements of his adiministration in the sector to include declaration of state of emergency, renovation and construction of healh facilities, payment of MoU counterpart among others.

He therefore called for support to the state government for timely execution of the rehabilitation and upgrade of the state’s Specialist Hospital for the benefit of the citizens.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Sani Mohammed Dambam appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s huge investment in the health sector which is contributing positively towards ensuring effective delivery of healhcare services.

Also speaking, the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his foresight and commitment to revamping government hospitals across the state, saying the project would enhance the hospital’s capacity to cater for more patients from Bauchi and neighboring states.
