STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS URGED TO BE MORE DEDICATED.

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has charged members of the Bauchi State Executive Council to rededicate themselves to accountability and teamwork in the discharge of their duties.

The Governor was Speaking during the opening of the State executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Bauchi and said the council meeting is an opportunity for reflection and self-assessment on the performance of his administration.

Governor Bala Mohammed reminded members that their tenure was running out, urging them to brace up, work harder, and ensure that the administration’s development objectives are fully achieved.

He commended ministries and departments for improving their budget performance and alignment, noting that the recently signed supplementary budget was part of efforts to ensure that governance in Bauchi State is guided by the rule of law, accountability, and international best practices.

The Governor expressed satisfaction with the success of the recent Bauchi State Investment Summit, which he said attracted investment commitments worth 5.7 billion dollars.

He directed all ministries and departments to submit proposals within one week on how to actualize the agreements reached with investors.

Governor Bala Mohammed also reflected on the smooth appointment of new Emirs and other traditional holders across the state, describing it as divinely guided and a major step toward strengthening local governance and security.

The Governor called on members of the Council to support the traditional institutions in promoting peace and development, emphasizing discipline and cost-effectiveness, and therefore cautioned commissioners against unnecessary travel and frequent absences from their offices and encouraged them to delegate functions to their permanent secretaries and directors when possible, stressing that their presence in Bauchi was more important than attending social functions outside the state.
