The Chairman, Regional Church Council of the Church of Christ in Nations, Bauchi State, Reverend Yohanna Daniel, has called on Christians to use the Christmas season as a period of self-reflection, righteousness and acts of kindness in preparation for eternal life.
Reverend Yohanna Daniel made the call during a Christmas service held at the COCIN Centre, Bauchi.
He urged worshippers to look beyond the festivities and embrace the true essence of the birth of Jesus Christ.
He cautioned Christians against engaging in corrupt practices or benefiting from unlawfully acquired wealth, particularly public resources, stressing that such actions contradict biblical teachings and endanger one’s salvation.
The cleric also condemned the rising menace of drug abuse, warning that it destroys personal integrity and undermines spiritual wellbeing.
Reverend Daniel reminded Yohanna the congregation that God sees every action, whether done in secret or in public, and remains the ultimate judge of all deeds, even beyond the grave.
Earlier in his sermon, the Senior Resident Pastor of the COCIN Centre, Reverend Gombeman Sama’ila, highlighted the spiritual significance of Christmas and called on Christians to renew their commitment to living according to biblical principles.
