Bauchi State Ministry for Budget, Economic Planning and Multilateral Coordination, has commended two retiring officers of the ministry for their dedication and outstanding service, urging them to remain available for future engagements when the need arises.
The commissioner of ministry, Hajiya Amina Mohammed Katagum, made the remarks during a send-off ceremony held at the ministry’s Conference Hall, Bauchi.
She said, the ministry was proud of the retirees’ invaluable contributions to their respective departments over the years.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Jibrin Mohammed Yusuf, Hajiya Amina Katagum wished the retirees good health and success in their future endeavours.
In their remarks, one of the retirees, Alhaji Umar Usman Mohammed, expressed gratitude to the management and staff of the ministry for the opportunity to serve, noting that, the experience had enriched his understanding of civil service ethics.
Alhaji Umar, who retired as Director, Donor and Technical Coordination, advised serving staff to remain humble, dedicated, patient and persevering in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
Another retiree, Mr. Joseph Joshua, also charged civil servants to shun absenteeism and uphold integrity in order to earn a lawful and dignified livelihood.
