Bauchi State Government has distributed food items worth ₦540 million to the Christian community in the state as part of activities to mark the 2025 Christmas and new year celebrations.
The Chairman of the State Standing Committee on Christmas Gift Distribution, Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin, disclosed this while newsmen in Bauchi.
He explained that, a significant portion of the items would be distributed to the five blocs of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bauchi State Chapter, namely, the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Catholic Secretariat, Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
According to him, other beneficiaries include Christian office holders at both state and federal levels, recognised Christian groups and associations, as well as members of the military and paramilitary services and political parties within the state.
Mr. Dalla Gin commended Governor Bala Mohammed for promoting equity and inclusiveness among adherents of different faiths in the state and assured the Christian community of a transparent and judicious distribution process.
Items distributed include, 171 bulls, 222 rams, 3,462 bags of rice, and 504 jerrycans of vegetable oil.
