Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has been commended for his efforts towards uplifting the standard of education in the state.
Bauchi State Commissioner for education Dr. Lawal Muhammed Rimin Zayam who made the remark in a live broadcast at the Bauchi Radio Corporation tagged score card.
He enumerated some of the achievements recorded in the education sector which include among others, the settlement of all outstanding backlogs of NECO and WAEC exams fees conducted Basic School Examination for junior secondary schools and the establishment of schools for women in Bauchi and Azare.
Others, partners with Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and empowerment Program through the conditional cash Transfer to bring back out of school children with enrollment of two hundred and four thousand out of which, twelve thousand one hundred and thirty three received forty thousand naira each to support them.
He said the ministry has embarked on screening other six thousand people to benefit from the scheme.
The Commissioner added that, two hundred and fifty schools would be renovated across the twenty local areas in the state.
Dr. Lawal Muhammed Rimin Zayam then appealed to the people of the State to support the Governor to enable him achieve the set objective to improve the standard of education in the state.
