Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, Barrister Muhammad Sani Umar, disclosed this while briefing journalists in his office in Bauchi.
He said applicants who participated in the recruitment exercise are advised to log into their dashboards on the recruitment portal to check their application status.
According to him, only candidates who are qualified and shortlisted will be able to print their approval slips, which will be required for the next stage of the exercise.
Barrister Muhammad Umar explained that the recruitment process took a considerable amount of time in order to ensure transparency and fairness.
He added that chairmen of local government councils in the state have been directed to appoint desk officers who will receive the approval slips from shortlisted candidates.
This, he said, is in line with Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s directive to ensure that the recruitment process reaches the ward level and gives equal opportunity to all wards in the state.
The Head of Civil Service revealed that a total of 117,000 candidates applied during the portal opening, out of which 5,669 candidates were found qualified and shortlisted.
He further stated that after the verification exercise, his office, in collaboration with relevant state commissions, will conduct basic interviews for the shortlisted candidates.
Barrister Muhammad Umar said the measures were put in place to minimize corruption, curb fake appointments, and ensure a credible recruitment process.
He warned individuals extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public with promises of securing employment to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
The Head of Civil Service also advised applicants and the general public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
