As Christians across the world celebrate the 2025 Christmas season, the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman has felicitated with the Christian communities in Bauchi State.
The Speaker in a statement by his media aid Speaker, Mukhtar Garba Kobi urged the Christians to embrace peace, unity, and moral values.
Dr. Abubakar Suleiman described Christmas as a period that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ and should go beyond feasting and merriment to reflect the virtues of kindness, repentance, forgiveness, and love for one another.
The Speaker noted that, Christians have historically been known for peaceful coexistence, honesty, and cordial relationships, stressing the need to sustain such values for the collective development of society.
He called on residents of the state to set aside religious, ethnic, and regional differences and focus on initiatives that would positively impact lives of the people.
According to him, effective governance requires the cooperation and support of the people, adding that, leaders can only succeed in discharging their constitutional responsibilities through unity, understanding, and continuous prayers.
Dr. Abubakar Suleiman also cautioned Christian youths against engaging in immoral and unlawful activities under the guise of Christmas celebrations.
He advised them to channel their energy and talents towards productive ventures that would contribute to personal growth and societal progress.
The Speaker
reaffirmed the commitment of the state lawmakers to continue working towards delivering democratic dividends aimed at improving the living standards of the populace.
He called on Christians to be law-abiding, responsible, and good ambassadors of their families and faith, while celebrating the season in a peaceful and mature manner.
