The family of the late Alhaji Jibrin Makera of Bauchi Local Government Area has called on its members to embrace unity, mutual understanding and collective progress.
The call was made by the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the maiden Makera Family Reunion, Alhaji Aliyu Yelwa, during the family meeting held at the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, Bauchi.
Alhaji Aliyu Yelwa said the reunion was aimed at strengthening family ties, promoting peaceful coexistence and fostering a shared sense of responsibility among descendants of the late patriarch.
He noted that, unity remained the bedrock for sustaining the values and legacy left behind by Alhaji Jibrin Makera.
According to him, a united family would be better positioned to support one another, resolve internal differences amicably and contribute meaningfully to the development of their immediate community and Bauchi State at large.
He urged younger members of the family to uphold discipline, respect and hard work, stressing that the success and reputation of the family depend largely on their conduct and commitment to positive ideals.
In thier separate remarks, a member of the family Alhaji Danjuma Sarki Sale, described the reunion as timely and commendable, saying it had provided an opportunity for family members to reconnect and renew their commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence.
He stressed the need for continuous dialogue among members, noting that regular engagement would help address misunderstandings and strengthen the bond within the family.
He further called on family elders to sustain their advisory roles, while encouraging the younger generation to remain respectful and supportive of one another in order to preserve the family’s integrity and shared values.
Also speaking, Hajiya Amina Yelwa expressed appreciation to the organising committee for successfully bringing the family together.
She noted that, the gathering had rekindled a sense of belonging among members, especially women and youths, and pledged the support of women in promoting harmony and cooperation within the family.
Hajiya Amina emphasized the importance of inclusiveness, understanding and collective support, particularly in times of need, adding that unity among family members would ensure the continued progress and stability of the Makera family.
