The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman, has lauded the organisers of the Alƙaleri/Kirfi Facebook Connect for their commitment to promoting peace, social cohesion, and humanitarian services.
The commendation came when a delegation of the group visited the Assembly to present an invitation for their forthcoming event, which is also expected to include a medical outreach targeting low-income earners, particularly the elderly.
Leading the delegation, Chairman of the group, Zaharadeen Kundak, said the Speaker’s inclusive leadership style and his engagement across divides inspired them to formally invite him.
He explained that the group channels its resources into supporting the less privileged, including donations to orphanages and assistance to families of members facing financial challenges.
Kundak added that this year’s event will feature expanded interventions, including medical services for vulnerable elderly persons.
Responding, the Speaker, Dr Abubakar Y Sulaiman expressed appreciation for the invitation, describing it as an honour extended to the entire Assembly.
He assured the delegation of his attendance, subject to availability.
Abubakar Y. pledged continued support to sustain their efforts in assisting orphans and vulnerable groups.
The Speaker also advised the organisers to incorporate social media professionals into the programme to educate participants on the effective use of digital platforms for personal development, business growth, and social impact.
He emphasised that such initiatives align with the Assembly’s broader commitment to youth empowerment and the promotion of meaningful community development.
