The Bauchi State Government has donated relief materials to the victims of communal clashes in Sansan and Garin Babbaji villages of Zaki Local Government Area .
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, the state’s Deputy Governor, Alhaji. Mohammad Auwal Jatau emphasized the need for rural communities to remain law-abiding and embrace peace and unity in order to sustain peaceful coexistence.
The Deputy Governor explained that the distribution of the relief materials to affected victims is part of the state government’s immediate effort to alleviate their suffering.
Auwal Jatau then sympathised with the victims families and assured that the state government will not relent in working towards ensuring mutual understanding and respect amongst the different communities across the state.
On his part, the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Masud Aliyu appreciated the state government for the donation of the relief materials which he said will alleviate the suffering of the victims.
The Chairman Zaki Local Government Council ,who expressed concern over the incident, assured that the council will do everything possible to avert the reoccurrence of the incident not only in Sansani and Babaji villages, but across the entire communities of the local government.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Amina Katagum, the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Alhaji Shitu Zaki as well as the Director General , among others.
