Bauchi First Lady urges children to embrace education and Hard work

Children in Bauchi State have been advised to be disciplined, hardworking and committed to their education as a pathway to achieving their future aspirations.

Bauchi State First Lady, Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed, gave the advice at the Government House, Bauchi, while addressing children who attended the 2026 Christmas and New Year Children’s Party.

Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed explained that the annual event was organised to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, as well as to thank Almighty Allah for granting the privilege of witnessing another year.

She said the occasion also provided an opportunity to put smiles on the faces of children and remind them that they are cherished, valued and central to the future development of Bauchi State.

The First Lady reassured the children of her continued commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting their welfare, particularly those targeting vulnerable children across the state.

She stressed that her office would remain dedicated to creating opportunities that would enable children to grow in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment, while advising them to always obey their parents and guardians for a successful life.

In a welcome address, Bauchi Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Mrs Lydia Haruna Tsanmani, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Mamman Sale, said the children’s party was an annual event organised to mark Christmas and the New Year celebrations and to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for sparing their lives.

He commended the First Lady for her sustained efforts in supporting women and children in the state, as well as her consistent support to the ministry in promoting their wellbeing.

In thier remarks, Imam Abdulrahman Ibrahim Idris and Reverend Masoyi advised the children to obey their parents, show love to one another and uphold good moral values.

They also commended the First Lady for giving the children the opportunity to share in the joy of the season every year.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the children, the Speaker of the Children’s Parliament, Zainab Mohammed, expressed appreciation to the First Lady and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development for organising the event.

She promised that the children would remain obedient, responsible and committed to becoming good leaders of tomorrow.
