Bauchi Assembly pledges to support Local Governments for transparency and development.

Bauchi State House of Assembly’s Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has reiterated its commitment to fostering synergy with Local Government Councils to promote transparency and accountability in governance.

The Chairman of the committee, Bala Abdullahi Dan, disclosed this when he led other members on an oversight visit and inspection of government projects in Dass Local Government Area.

Bala Dan emphasized that the committee’s mission was not to witch-hunt anyone but to acquire firsthand knowledge of projects and financial activities at the grassroots level.

He noted that, the primary goal of the committee was to ensure that local government operations comply with state laws and regulations and are implemented in line with the needs of the people.

Responding, the Chairman of Dass Local Government, Comrade Muhammad Abubakar Jibo, stressed the importance of collaboration with the committee to achieve shared objectives.

Comrade Abubakar Jibo also highlighted some of the key achievements recorded, including the renovation and upgrade of the Dass Emir’s Palace, market and youth empowerment initiatives, as well as the construction of drainage and culverts in the area.
