Zakkat committee in Ningi distributes 225 bags of grains to the needy.

Zakkat committee in Sama Ward, Ningi local government area of Bauchi State has distributed about 225 bags of grains to less privileged members of the society.

Speaking during the distribution exercise in the Kajala community, the District head of Burra Alhaji Ya’u Shehu Abubakar, expressed delight with the courage of the people to give out their Zakkat to the assigned committee.

Represented by Alhaji Shehu Kwadabe, the District head also commended the efforts of the village head for uniting his people on the righteous work.

He challenged other four village heads of his jurisdiction to emulate the gesture.

Earlier, the village head of Sama Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu Halad stated that they collected 225 bags of grains which comprised sorghum, Maize, Soya beans and rice, adding that all the grains were collected from the farmers and the exercise is the fourth of its kind in his area.

The representative of Ningi Chief Imam Malam Hussaini Shehu Imam, explained that Zakkat is one of the pillars of Islam imposed on the farmers, traders and wealthy individuals.

Malam Hussaini Imam, called the people to give out zakkat as at when due and to adhere strictly to the guidelines and teachings of Islam.
