Toro LG Chairman calls for enrollment of school aged children into schools.

The Executive Chairman of Toro Local Government Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo has challenge people of Lame District to enroll the children into schools.

The chairman was at the district head palace of Lame in continuation of his sensitization tour to enlightened general public on the 2024/2025 enrollment drive campaign across the Local government.

Pharmacist Ibrahim Dembo said no community would developed without sound Education, hence the need for community leaders of the area to enlightened their subjects on the importance of education.

He described the move as one of the duties of community leaders to ensure full enrollment of school age pupils in their domain.

Earlier, the Local Government Education secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Musa said new modalities for the enrollment exercise has been set up and urged parents in the area to send their children to schools for the enrollment exercise as well as their school dropout children to fill in the gab.

In his remark, the Sarkin Yaki of Bauchi and District head of Lame Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu Lame while promising his council’s commitment to support the enrollment drive campaign across the district and directed all village and hamlet heads in the area to mobilized their subjects for the effective conduct of the enrollment exercise.

He said, he was informed on the engagement of a number of students in mining activities rather than going to schools, nothing that children are allow to go for their business after school hours.

In his comment the Local government SBMC chairman Alhaji Abdulhamid Tanko promised to work with all school management to move the schools forwards and improve enrollments in the schools.

Meanwhile, Staff of General Hospital Toro have been commended for working round the clock to enhance proper health care service delivery at the hospital.

The commendation was made by the executive chairman Toro local government pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Hospital.

The chairman said he is impressed with the conduct of the Hospital staff and urged them to maintain the gesture.

Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo said was at the hospital to see for himself the conditions of the Hospital with a view to work together with the management for the development of the area.

Receiving the entourage, the chief Medical Officer Dr. Maryam Ahmed Abubakar thanked the Chairman for the visit, describing it as a morale booster.

She mentioned some of the Hospital activities, achievements and problems that include lack of Xray machine, theater tables and furniture at the all side of the Hospital as well as a need to construct one kilometer road from the entrance of the Hospital among others.
