Books and other essential learning materials have been distributed to school children in Misau Local Government Area as part of efforts to support and strengthen basic education in the community.
The donation was made by a young political aspirant, Ahmed Tijjani Ibrahim, during a ceremony held at Misau Chartwell Hotel over the weekend.
Speaking at the event, Ahmed Tijjani said many families can no longer afford educational materials due to economic hardship.
He explained that his gesture is aimed at easing the burden on parents and complementing governments efforts to improve access to quality education for the younger generation.
Also speaking, Yusuf Inuwa Barrister commended the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of genuine concern for the educational development of children in Misau.
He urged other well-meaning individuals to emulate Ahmed Tijjani by supporting programmes that promote learning and child development.
Parents of the beneficiaries, along with other attendees, expressed appreciation for the donation, noting that the support will motivate their children and enhance their academic performance.
