The Vice Chancellor of Al-Istiqama University in Sumaila, Kano State, Professor Salisu Shehu, has called on the entire Muslim Ummah across Nigeria to reap the maximum benefits of Eid-El-Kabir by observing all the benefits of the day as taught by Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.
Professor Shehu made the call shortly after performing the two raka’at prayers of Eid-El-Kabir at Gwallaga Eid ground in Bauchi.
He described Eid-El-Kabir as a significant day in the life of every Muslim, especially as it coincides with Jumu’ah (Friday), stressing the need for Muslims to thank Allah for preserving their lives to witness the occasion once again.
The Islamic scholar who Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that says the most blessed day of the week is Friday, urged Muslim faithful to dedicate themselves to the worship of Allah.
Professor Salisu Shehu further emphasized the importance of praying for the people of Gaza, noting that their plights should not be overlooked, and urged Muslims to ask Almighty Allah for their rescue and relief.
Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Gwallaga Jumu’at Mosque, Bauchi, Malam Sulaimanu Yusuf Bashir, reminded Muslims across the country and beyond to live as true ambassadors of Islam by adhering to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The Chief Imam encouraged the wealthy to support the less privileged and stressed the need for parents to instill moral values in their children.
